A Pristine Exhibit of one of the most famous models of the 2495 BE Edition, so highly revered by devotees of this Temple lineage, and a Pim Niyom preferred amulet, of Luang Phu Nak of Wat Rakang Kositaram; the Pra Roop Muean Somdej Dto Nang Borigam. Amongst the most famous and famous amulets of the Grand Pantheon of this Master, whose amulets are all now considered to be preferred status, making this model an extremely desirable acquisition. The amulet is made from Nuea Pong Somdej Wat Rakang Gao with Pong Wan (pieces of Pra Somdej Wat Rakang Kositaram Somdej Pra Puttajarn (Dto) Prohmrangsri with Herbal Pollens). All amulets of Luang Phu Nak were made using old broken amulets of the Great Somdej Dto. This amulet is a perfect Ongk Kroo reference exhibit for diligent study of the various aspects and features of a true Master Class Pim Niyom model of Luang Phu Nak's Pantheon, and a Reference Study of the Dtamra of Pra Somdej Wat Rakang Kositaram
The rear face is smooth and hard like marble to touch. The Muan Sarn Content is visible in the small chip on the edge of rear face, which shows its dryness and density, and a high content of ancient Pra Somdej Wat Rakang Kositaram within the Muan Sarn Sacred Clay.
The surface of the amulets of Luang Phu Nak have two distinct kinds of appearance; One is highly defined relief, which is referred to in the special vocabulary of the amulet community as 'Nuea Jad' meaning 'highly contrasted'. This kind of texture is usually dry and hard but having a porous or powdery surface appearance, which may sometimes even look 'fuzzy'.
The other main kind of texture found in amulets of Luang Phu Nak (and ancient Sacred Powder amulets in general), is 'Nuea Graeng'. Nuea Graeng is a more marble-like rough surface (but smoothed edges) domino-dense admixture which despite dryness, tends to have a shiny 'wet-look' to it. This are the amulets which are considered to contain the highest quantity of Pra Somdej Wat Rakang Kositaram.
The features of the amulet display true ageing characteristics. The amulet is hence extremely rare both for the Pim Niyom Status, and its clearly defined features. The Pim Roop Muean Somdej Dto Nang Borigam is a highly favored amulet of Luang Phu Nak's Pantheon and is also one of the more well known amulets with the general public. The Pim Roop Muean Somdej Dto was made both with Yantra (Hlang Yant) and without Yantra (Hlang Riab) on rear face.
The rear face of this exhibit shows it has been placed on a smooth surface when laid out to dry, making this pim a 'Hlang Riab'. Some exhibits were leaid on smooth surfaces, others were laid on Mai Gradan boards (which resulted in line patterns on the rear face), and some very few were made with a Sacred Yantra on the rear face, as seen in the below images from a News Article about this series of amulets.
These methods were just two of various methods used with the amulets of Luang Phu Nak, and hence, there are various different effects which can be found on different exhibits from this master, ranging from Yantra inscriptions on rear face, smooth back, and ridged back (Dtak Mai Gradan). The same is true to say for the Pra Somdej Wat Rakang of Immortal Fame of Somdej Pra Puttajarn Dto Prohmrangsri himself.
Most certainly and truly a desirable acquisition for collectors and devotees of the amulets of Luang Phu Nak, and of Somdej Dto, whose characteristics possess all of the major criteria for a Pim Niyom Class amulet of High Repute, Immensely Rare for its Popularity with the Amulet Appreciation Society collectors, and of course, most importantly, a Powerful Protector and Bringer of Good Fortunes.

The amulets of Luang Phu Nak were made using the following ingredients
Powder from the chalk sticks used in the making of Pong Saksit (sacred powder for amulet making), Rice fragments kept by Luang Por Dto, the 5 Sacred Powders of; 1. Pong Putta Kun, 2. Pong Bpatamang, 3. Pong Trinisinghae, 4. Pong Maha Rach, 5. Pong Itti Jae Powder.
The chalks used in the making of the Bpatamang, Trinisinghe Maharach and Itijae powders were mixed with sacred water that squeezed from the leaves of seven kinds of Thai plant including Bai Tamlueng , Yord Sawad, Yod Ga Hlong, Yod Raksorn,Chaiyapruek, Rachapreuk and Dork Mali (Jasmine).
All of the ingredients of the Wat Rakang amulets were mixed with;
Nuea Pong (powder substances), Klee Saema (broken pieces of temple wall stones, Gaesorn Sut Bongot (pollen from the Bongot lotus flower), Kluay Nam Tai (a kind of Thai banana) mixed with sap from the rubber tree (Yang Madtum), Plueak Hoy (white clam shells), Nam Man Jantr (jasmine oil), Nam Man Dtang Iw (aromatic resinous oil used to congeal and cement the amulet mix with).

This Pim was released in the year 2495 BE, and is an extremely Rare Early Era Preferred (Niyom) Amulet, so hard to encounter in the present day, and is a Must for all collectors of Luang Phu Nak's amulets, and devotees of Somdej Pra Puttajarn (Dto) Prohmrangsri. An amulet to wear with pride and confidence of its power, and to sustain one's reverence for the Great Somdej Pra Puttajarn (Dto) Prohmrangsri. Yet another a Classic Pim Niyom Model, amongst the most highly preferred by aficionados and devotees of the amulets of Luang Phu Nak and Wat Rakang Kositaram.
The Pra Somdej and other Sacred Powder amulets made by Luang Phu Nak contained a massive quantity of crushed up Pra Somdej amulets made by Somdej Dto Prohmrangsri of Wat Rakang, which Luang Phu Nak had collected over the years, from Looksit who brought their broken amulets to return to the Temple, as well as a sackful he found in the roof of the Prayer Room ('Bote' in Thai).

This renders them even more powerful through the incantations and Yantra Inscriptions of Somdej Pra Puttajarn (Dto) Prohmrangsri himself, through transmission of Muan Sarn Sacred Powders. Luang Phu Nak's first edition of amulets was made in 2485 BE along with the Pra Somdej Song Taewada Ok Dtan, and Pra Somdej Song Taewada Ok Rong, the Pra Somdej Sam Liam (triangle shape), various Metal Coins, and the Pra Somdej Dto Nang Borigam models.
The first and second editions contained an extremely high quantity of Pra Somdej Wat Rakang, and is the most highly regarded, and now also rarest edition of amulets in the pantheon. The amulets of Luang Phu Nak began to disappear noticeably somewhere around the years 2545 BE. This happened as collectors from around South-East Asia and the Western world began to collect them more fervently, as a second choice to the now completely out of reach Pra Somdej Wat Rakang Kositaram of Somdej Pra Puttajarn (Dto) Prohmrangsri.
Since then, the amulets have become a truly rare sight to see in public showrooms and amulet markets, and this has served to increase the fervour to collect, which in turn, creates an increase in the rate of depletion, and rarity. One only has to do the Maths, to conclude that pretty soon, the only place we will find a Pra Somdej Luang Phu Nak, is when it is already being worn around the neck of a Devotee.
These days, it is extremely rare to encounter such amulets. We would say that Luang Phu Nak's amulets are perhaps the most highly sought after in the present Era by those devotees of Somdej Pra Puttajarn (Dto) Prohmrangsri and Wat Rakang Kositaram, because they are 'the next best thing' to a Priceless amulet of Somdej Pra Puttajarn (Dto) Prohmrangsri amulet. Amongst the other amulets which are sought after by the devotee of this lineage, are those of Luang Phu Hin, Jao Khun Tiang, both being Masters of the Wat Rakang Kositaram lineage, and who all have made amulets in conjunction with each other, and joined together in blessing ceremonies at Wat Rakang Kositaram.
The amulets of Luang Phu Nak tend to be very popular in the present era, as the best and most afforable way to Bucha the Pra Somdej Wat rakang, knowing the amulet is made almost exlusively from purely broken pieces of the original Pra Somdej of Somdej Dto Prohmrangsri. The next best thing, so to say. Other masters who enjoy popularity with devotees of Wat Rakang are Luang Phu Hin, and the Great Jao Khun Tiang. The great Luang Ta Pan may also be worthy of Mention, although his fame came from making amulets at Wat Bang Khun Prohm, which is also one of the top amulet temples of the Somdej Pra Puttajarn (Dto) Prohmrangsri lineage, and which are mostly also collected by devotees of Wat Rakang Kositaram.
In Thai, we call this 'Dtragun Diawgan' which means 'same family tree'. In our opinion, these are perhaps the next best thing to an original Somdej Dto, for an affordable price. Sacred Thai Amulets are intended primarily as Puttanus sadti (remembrance and respect to the Buddha), especially Pra Somdej.
Of course anybody would wish to own a Pra Somdej of the great Somdej Pra Puttajarn (Dto) Prohmrangsri, for his legendary Powers and Attainments, but realistically speaking, most people should look to something more affordable of similar calibre, for which the Pra Somdej Wat Rakang Kositaram Luang Phu Nak is a perfect recommendation for they contain the original Somdej Dto amulets within their Sacred Powders.
Recent years saw great fervour in the collector scene and the international scene, which has caused the amulets of Luang Phu Nak to go from rare, to become extreme rarities. They are no longer easily found, and their numbers have dwindled to become highly noticeable.
This has merely served to increase the fervour, and the very last amulets are now fast disappearing from the amulet scene, as they are snapped up and kept by their owners. If there was a time to hurry for amulets from this Master, the time is Now.
The chances of owning an amulet like this are becoming less and less in recent years, and soon it will be practically impossible to obtain authentic old Wat Rakang amulets. There are ever more collectors and ever less amulets on the market, and there is no higher esteemed amulet than the Pra Somdej Wat Rakang Kositaram family.
